Rural development project with a gender perspective in the Ripollès region.

Rural Queer Comunity accompanies rural communities, understanding them as integrative spaces and linked to global problems.

The project combats the gender dynamics that have historically expelled LGTBIQ+ people from rural areas.

The Cercle Campdevanolenc, Fundació MAP, the association ACATHI, the Cooperativa Kloosiv, the Consell Comarcal del Ripollès and local administrations, as well as various cultural collectives, accompany us in the creation of the support network.

Rural Queer Comunity wants to contribute to the repopulation of rural regions throughout the territory from an intersectional perspective.

The project wants to face depopulation by incorporating a gender and anti-racist vision, through the reception of refugees due to sexual orientation or gender identity who have the desire to live in rural environments.

Rural Queer Comunity accompanies the people who are part of the project to achieve economic, work and housing autonomy.

Rooting in the territory of the beneficiaries of the program is key, so at all times rooting is worked on through the local community to contribute to the construction of a social network and mutual support.

The creation of a meeting space for people from the LGTBIQ+ group, and all those people who are sensitized to gender issues, or wish to learn about the initiatives of the territory from this perspective, allows this network to be strengthened.

Rural Queer Comunity is a pioneering initiative in Ripollès in the rooting of refugees and migrants, rural development with a gender perspective and the creation of spaces of mutual support for social transformation.

Headquartered in Campdevànol, it aims to become a point of reference for the neighboring counties and, progressively, for the entire rural territory, seeking collaborations between groups and entities in the fields of care, accompanying migrants or the culture

The promoters of the initiative are Mixité, a cooperative that works from rural areas, for social transformation and environmental balance.

From the fields of regenerative urban planning, community action, education and culture, Mixité promotes the empowerment of vulnerable communities, as a basis for dealing with contemporary urban, social and environmental issues.
